NATIONAL 18 CHAMPIONSHIP FINDHORN 1986
During the practice race the flag halyard escaped and Nikki went up the mast in the evening to replace it. I was on time for the first race but I forgot the cannon. Helen + Co. dashed into the bay and returned with it in 11 minutes.
The second race was postponed due to lack of wind and sailed on the Wednesday.
After two races on Wednesday no one wanted a cancellation on Thursday but the waves on the bar and fog made conditions unsafe. With visibility such that we could not have seen the other end of the start line. I looked across at Murray and shook my head. He agreed - so two races were run on Friday. John Wallace, Martin Lane and Tommy Dyer were separated by one point overall.
