I flew from Bahrain to Geneva and then took the train to Montbard. I spent Friday and Saturday cleaning the boat as there was a lot of mould all over the place. All the bedding needed airing and there were odd bits of rot about. I started the engine and ran it for a couple of hours to charge the batteries and then motored to the pontoon where I filled with water, fuel, food and drink. I used the BBQ inside for cooking to dry out the cabin and kill the musty smell. Saturday 1 August was Swiss national day so there was a party. Pierre, Anne Marie and Vincent arrived on Sunday night so we set off on Monday morning in pouring rain. There was no sugar on the boat and we soon ran out of bread so we stopped at Pont Royal on Tuesday morning at 1000. We got beer too. |
